It strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. It will worsen traffic congestion, not reduce it. The government’s ownexperts have consistently said that bike lanes are not a cause of gridlock. Lire davantage

I'm disappointed that this Provincial government continues to ignore experts on traffic, safety, and environmental impact. This bill is framed as a way to reduce traffic and pollution in urban areas, yet makes every effort to do the exact opposite. Lire davantage

I am a fan of bikes and bicycles. I am not a fan of bike lanes in the City of Toronto for a number of very good reasons: 1. First, we are a winter country, and bikes have no place on roads from December to April ;it's hard enough to get around even without the presence of bike lanes; Lire davantage

So you want to fight congestion, by inducing more car traffic? Seems like you (Doug Ford) have corporate interests in mind rather than what's best for EVERYONE, including drivers. Lire davantage

Protected bike lanes prevent serious injuries and deaths for people biking, walking, and driving. I have taught five children to ride a bike on the assumption that they can enjoy the freedom and independence of biking on streets that are safe. Lire davantage

As active seniors, despite joint replacements and heart valve issues, we love riding our bikes for recreation and transportation. Living north of Bloor however, means that we have no access to safe routes to get us to downtown and the superb infrastructure already in place south of Bloor. Lire davantage

Ontario is going backwards with Ford’s conception of how people travel in towns and cities. Globally, one can see that infrastructure has been inclusive of all types of travel, especially with regard to cycling. It’s good exercise and environmentally sound. Lire davantage

This is terrible and unsafe policy that will kill and maim people. My best friend was killed biking on a main street without a bike lane. She was only 23 years old. Last year was the deadliest year for cyclists and pedestrians because of our unsafe streets. Lire davantage

I have been an avid driver, and now I am an avid cyclist in the city. Making it harder to add bike lanes in Ontario helps no one. We should not build infrastructure around cars - we can build a better future instead. Lire davantage

It is hard to argue with this bill because it is not crafted in good faith. Even the title is wrong because removing the ability for municipalities to build bicycle infrastructure will not in fact reduce delays. Lire davantage

I am writing in strong opposition to this bill and in particular the provision to ban the removal of any motor vehicle lane. This bill is much to broad and extremely misguided. Lire davantage

I do not agree with this bill and want all MPPs to think hard before voting for it. This bill does the opposite of what is allegedly intends, it will make traffic worse and our streets more dangerous. Lire davantage

Bike lanes don't cause congestion. For goodnesss sake, I just want my sisters to be able to bike to school, and they can't do that now because cars are dangerous to bikes. Lire davantage

Please do not remove or prohibit bike lanes. This is not the answer to gridlock and traffic. Invest in public transit. Many people ride bikes and we want to ride safely. Protected bike lanes save lives. And it's better for our health and the environment.

Let cities/towns control their own streets. There is no more room if everyone is forced into a car.

The provincial government needs to stop this overreach. Let municipalities manage their own affairs. Bike lanes keep bikes out of traffic, making it safer for both drivers and bikers.
