While disagree with the knee jerk reaction to oppose any new development, I think this project needs to address several issues:
• The scale of the project is too large for the area in question. A scaled down version (about a half) would be much better to provide the necessary housing.

I have lived in southeast Oakville since 1981 and love it here. The only negative at the moment is difficulty in getting out of this subdivision. Having the lake on one side and the QEW and railroad track on the other is very restrictive.

As an Oakville resident leaving nearby Oakville GO station, I am strongly opposing your four Zoning Orders to force the Transit-Oriented Community onto Town of Oakville.

You will be met with immense backlash from Oakville residents. Awareness of the unconstrained density is growing. This will cost Mr Ford in the next election. It is shameful the level of density with limited infrastructure when we are already meeting our housing build requirements.
The Oakville TOC plan by the Ford gov't is so stupid beyond belief it can only be planned as a result of Doug cutting an illegal deal with the developer.

I absolutely cannot believe Oakville would be considering building high-rise condos in mid-town. The traffic is already a nightmare in Oakville with all the new condos that have been built over the last several years and all the new housing in north Oakville.

This is just ridiculous to have province use its power unnecessarily to force the development of TOC in Oakville. I believe the province insiders would like to see Oakville as Golden Gosse.

I a local Oakville resident writing to formally object to the current proposal for the Oakville GO Transit-Oriented Community (TOC), specifically regarding the extraordinary density levels proposed and the demonstrable lack of coordinated infrastructure planning necessary to support such growth.

Absolutely no to this project. Oakville's infrastructure will be overwhelmed by this density. We don't want overcrowding like they have in Mississauga. We want to maintain our standard of living and it is already becoming too crowded. There is no need or desire for this.

This intended zoning order will only continue to overburden arteries and creaking infrastructure. We need new roads , highways and piblic transit that works (not like Metrlincx). Oakville is already grinding to a halt like most of the GTA.

OPA 70 is the preferred plan for Midtown according to Oakville Residents Associations, Town of Oakville Planning Staff, and a unanimous vote of the Oakville Town Council.

The proposed plan is a disaster. It disregards the character of Oakville and would make it harder for current residence to access transit as the traffic by Oakville gas station would make it impossible to reach in a timely manner.

The TOC proposal is offering far too many one bedroom condos, proved to be unpopular in the Toronto area. What is needed is accommodation for families with amenities such as nearby schools and parks, a well designed community such as that proposed by our Oakville Town

I wanted to comment against the proposed development. The access roads in the area of the sites considered are already jammed as you try to access to Go Station in the morning or afternoon rush hours. Imagine what a nightmare would be when there are 11 high-rise building are added to the mix.

Oakville’s OPA 70, unanimously adopted by council and the mayor, reflects a viable livable proposed community located adjacent and at the GO Station. The province’s proposed MZOs significantly exceed OPA 70 urban planning densities.

Buildings that are skyscrapers are not appropriate for a community outside of our large urban cities. In Oakville we need more low-rise affordable housing in walkable hubs where food retail and services are co-located not congested high rise towers that crush the capacity of the infrastructure.
