Land next to the edge of water shouldn't be developed beyond a park or beach. Erosion and flooding will always be a risk. Shoreline management is also severely hindered by buildings, which can skyrocket costs. Have we not learned anything from mother nature lately? Read more

Please do NOT complete this transfer. As a long time resident of Wasaga Beach and a Business Owner that relies on tourism, I do not support this. The municipality has already said how exciting it is to open 60 acres of development land at the main beach area. This CANNOT be allowed. Read more

I vote against the transfer of ownership from the province to the Town of Wasaga Beach for beach 1 and 2 and new Wasaga and Allenwood beach but agree with Nancy Island

The joy of our provincial parks is how untouched they are. Selling off these lands for development and to aid in “tourism” is frankly antithetical to the whole point. People go to wasaga beach to experience nature. Our provincial parks need to be protected. Read more

I do not support removing or selling public lands to private interests. Keep the beach public, business owners can buy or rent private lands if they are viable businesses.

We do NOT need to copy the American initiative of selling off our public parkland to bolster our tourism dollars. Wasaga Beach already garners & attracts millions of visitors every year. Once again, Doug Ford is changing his tune. Read more

I strongly oppose this proposed transfer of public beachfront lands to the town. This would open doors to development that will destroy vital and fragile habitats and create privatization of publicly enjoyed lands. Read more

What a crying shame. You are taking a beautiful, family friendly and what was an affordable beach and swimming area for families to enjoy and you are turning it into a money grab for giant corporations and government pockets. Read more

I do not believe that the Town of Wasaga Beach has the resources and expertise needed to manage the competing interests (tourism, environment, local residents) in the beaches. Read more

We don’t need more tourism, we need to protect and conserve our wildlife and endangered species. Removing these protections risks habitats and is an act of greed. There cannot be infinite growth in a finite world and environment.

Keep the lands under Parks Canada. The beach should not be private under the Wasaga Council. Do NOT proceed with this proposal cancel now ! Thank you

I am opposed to this. Build up, not down. There is no need to further destroy the wildlife habitats of species that should be protected.

The removal of land from the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park and the subsequent sale of that land to the town for tourism and economic purposes is not acceptable at all!! This land belongs to the people to use. Read more

Nobody wants this, except you’re rich developer friends. The government is supposed to be a steward for future generations and selling off the longest freshwater beach in the world and destroying habitat is not protecting the environment for future generations. Read more
