I strongly oppose this bill. It's important for the sustainable development of this province that strong environmental legislation like the Endangered Species Act remain in place. Growth cannot come a the expense of the air we breath, the water we drink, and the biodiversity of our home. Lire davantage

I do not support the proposed changes in Bill 5. I do not think that development should be allowed to commence without the proper environmental assessments and without thorough permits; development should not come at the cost to biodiversity and greenspace that we all need to survive. As a concerned resident of Ontario, I strongly oppose the proposed Special Economic Zones Act, 2025. While economic growth and strategic development are important, this legislation represents a dangerous erosion of environmental oversight, democratic accountability, and long-term sustainability. This bill removes an aspect of democracy that is valuable. These decisions affect the well being of nature and people. Public consultations should be continued. Once we remove aspects of protection for the benefit of business it is impossible to replace what is lost for decades. Lire davantage

This is a very bad idea. How can a town of 2500 people be placed right beside a mega dump? This is not a special economic zone. We live and breathe the air here and now we are in jeopardy. This is an agricultural zone and it will be forever destroyed by this dump. Conagra will leave. Lire davantage

The actions of the Ford government against the protection of our Green Belt is exactly why this bill should not pass. Bill 5 would allow government to strip protected land of their title to be abused by industries and corporations. Lire davantage

As a resident of Ontario, I am opposed to Bill 5. Bill 5 is a sweeping attack on endangered species protections, Indigenous rights, and even the rule of law. Bill 5 scraps the endangered species act leaving Ontario's most at-risk animals in danger. Lire davantage

I do not agree with this proposal because it opens up the possibility of a slippery slope of developing quickly but not smartly. It also could lead to endangering crucial species and destroying critical habitats. Lire davantage
