Climate Action Partnership strongly opposes Schedule 5 Part XII.1 of Bill 60, which would prohibit municipalities from removing lanes presently used by motor vehicles to be reallocated towards safer space for transit, pedestrians, and active and/or e-mobility Lire davantage

The restriction on municipalities removing motor vehicle lanes is entirely contrary to all reason and expert opinion and knowledge about improving traffic congestion, including the Ontario Government's own internal experts and consultants as was revealed in the Cycle Toronto court decision. Don’t pass bill 60, we want more bike lanes to keep folks safe on the road and have alternative means of transportation!

I’m writing to demand that you rescind and/or oppose the Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, a damaging piece of legislation that includes a reckless power grab that bans bike lanes and gives the Minister of Transportation sweeping authority to block anything that “interferes” with car traffic, in Lire davantage

Please don’t do this. We need safe options for cyclists. This almost guarantees some folks will die.

since removing bike lanes never helps the traffic jam, it only add more cars into traffic and make it worse, and it makes bike commute very unsafe for people, I'm strongly against this Bill and if it passes I'll will never vote ever again for dog ford or any conservative party in Ontario. Bike lanes are good. I want bike lanes so that as a driver I can drive safely and the bikers can stay safe. Construction and uber vehicles cause traffic congestion. Lire davantage

As a regular biking commuter to work, in addition to health benefits, there are countless other benefits biking lanes facilitate: taking less space on transit, deep savings (cars cost about $1,300/month to drive), less pollution, and more. Lire davantage

Imagine your grandfather taking a walk. He's got his walker, and he's slowly and predictably crossing the road in a cross walk with a walk signal. Your uncle is with him, close by - they are following the rules and doing everything right. Lire davantage

Bill 60 is a monstrous omnibus, and the only common thread that unites its disparate and myopic aims is that it makes life harder for people who aren't rich. Removing and preventing bike lanes makes traffic worse, proven repeatedly by studies this government pretends don't exist. Lire davantage

My son, a school teacher rides his bike to work from Woodbine to Jones Avenue on the Danforth bike lanes. If they are removed he will return to driving. Getting rid of bike lanes means more cars on the road. This is not a solution to the traffic problem in Toronto. Lire davantage

This government fails to acknowledge their own data time and again. Prioritizing personal cars over human beings, cyclists, public transit, etc. makes moving around slower and more dangerous for everyone, INCLUDING CARS!! Lire davantage

I think it’s ridiculous that the province wants to limit bike lane development in favour of cars. The municipality knows what the local people want and the province is attempting to control local governments. The car is not king. Lire davantage

I strongly condemn this proposal. As a cyclist in the city of Toronto cycling is already unsafe enough. This bill if passed would allow the government to have sweeping authority over municipalities, and how they manage cycling lanes. Lire davantage
