This proposed change will not enhance the already-strained public environment services. Lessening the local oversight into a smaller conglomerate will affect each area in a negative capacity that will provide any fixes to any of the ongoing problems. Lire davantage

This makes no sense from an ecological system management perspective. I implore this government to cease the senseless consolidation of these conservation authorities. Lire davantage

I am completely against this proposal as it will ultimately lead to a reduction in funding, reduced local activities specific to the area, it will lead to higher fees for many locations, and I fear it will also weaken wildlife protections. Lire davantage

The current system of smaller localized conservation authorities allow for experts in specific areas to highlight protection needs and speak to their own region. Lire davantage

Reducing the number of authorities based on the concept of "The current system of 36 separate conservation authorities is fragmented, with each conservation authority following different policies, standards, fees and levels of staffing and technical capabilities," means that you remove the right to Lire davantage

Centralization should always be assumed to be a bad idea and then justified against this assuming. The reason that all centralization needs justification is that as organizations become more centralized they care less and less about the local individuals they serve. Lire davantage

Our province is vast. Every region has unique challenges facing both development and the preservation of our natural spaces. Having independent conservation authorities allows proper management of this resource from experts who know their unique area. Lire davantage

This is a ridiculous idea. It assumes all parks have the same environment, the same needs the same community that uses it. Stop looking to make cuts to services and taxes, the government is not a business, it provides services to its constituents. Lire davantage

I believe that this proposal should not go through. It's important that local water be handled by local authority as they would be able to respond quickest and with the most familiarity to any issues that may arise

Lifelong resident of Ontario here, this is a hideous proposal that NO ONE IS ASKING FOR, that will do nothing but at best make a larger red tape barrier, at worst is handing important land and water rights to certain corporate interests (who I think pay Doug Ford very well for this sort of proposed Lire davantage

This is unconscionable, wasteful and wrong. You know it, and I know it. This is a shameful pretense for gutting environmental oversight in favor of naked greed and corruption.

Completely insane that anyone would think these regions should cover such large areas. How could any organization effectively operate a region for example from Kingston to Ottawa and Summerstown just because "their water enters the St. Lawrence". Lire davantage

You have no credibility to enact legislation like this, because you don't tell the truth. Whatever reason you're actually doing it for, you're not going to tell us, therefore we have no basis to evaluate the legislation. Lire davantage

I hold multiple degrees in environmental science, including a master of science in with specialization in fluvial geomorphology. I can say without a doubt this is a bad move for the province. The conservation authorities are integral to the long-term health of the province and it's people. Lire davantage

This is a bad idea. You need local authorities to monitor their own areas. We can’t allow this government to dilute environmental responsibility. The government is supposed to serve the people, not create back doors for rich businesses to profit from the depletion of our natural environment. Lire davantage

This sort of policy is not only exposing thousands of us to flooding and irreparable damage to the environment but is going to lead to there not being enough staff, planning or oversight in specific regions. Lire davantage
