As a resident of Thunder Bay, I am OPPOSED to the Province’s proposed amalgamation of the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority (LRCA) with six other Southern Ontario Conservation Authorities to form the “Huron-Superior Regional Conservation Authority”. Lire davantage

This an absurd concept and certainly will not "improve" anything in the province. There will be no natural spaces left for future generations if the current administration continues to destroy the environment and dismantle the agencies which protect it. Please stop being so short-sighted and greedy.

Do not do this. The purpose is entirely missed and instead hurting everyone this plan is supposed to help. If there is anything we need as Canadians right now, it is more protection from climate change, and more government initiatives to minimize our cause and effects. Lire davantage

Please reconsider keeping northern and northwestern Ontario conservation authorities separate from the south. M To instill the integrity of each region this is necessary. Both have unique qualities and are not compatible with 1 each other and therefore, should have their own mandates.

There is NO net benefit to Ontarians by amalgamating conservation authorities, they will all suffer immensely. Who is going to ensure land trusts aren’t magically incorporated? Lire davantage

Amalgamation means fewer resources and less staff, you’re not fooling anyone. The Ford government is well known for the damage it’s caused to our environmental protections. Maybe listen to your “lowly” staff (ie experts) and axe this idea.

The Conservation Authorities are experts on their LOCAL watershed. The watersheds provide, amongst many other things, safety zones for water destined to be consumed -- whether through ground or surface water supply. Lire davantage

This is a highly ignorant, uneducated, and extremely dangerous idea. Stop trying to malgimate everything to "balance the budget". You are destroying this province with your highly uneducated decisions and greed. Ford government's hates families and middle to lower class families. Lire davantage

The Lakehead Region Conservation Authority has a completely different watershed than all others in Ontario and it is a terrible idea to merge it with another authority/watershed. Lire davantage

This makes zero sense to combine these very different conservation areas. The gover3 should be embarrassed to even suggest these idiotic changes... Apples vs oranges

The proposed changes to the boundaries for Lakehead Regional Conservation Area are poorly considered. I suggest that proponents of the plan look at a map of Ontario. Northwestern Ontario has little in common with the area suggested they join. Lire davantage

Please reconsider - it is important to those of us who live in rural Ontario that local authorities manage our natural resources. Keep these conservation authorities as they are.

A poll conducted by the Windsor Star asked: ‘Should local conservation planning remain local?’ 100% of respondents answered affirmatively. Conservation decisions must remain local, accountable, and responsive. Lire davantage
