Local conservation authorities are critical to making informed specific decisions with regard to municipalities. For no reason, should these be replaced, amalgamated or otherwise changed to put greater distance between local residents and those who would have the power to make changes. Thank you! Read more

I do not feel merging the conservation authorities is the right decision. Each conservation area has their own attributes that need to be handled individually. I feel like the best approach for this is hiring people who live in the same conservation area. Read more

Please don’t combine conservation areas as each has its own unique concerns and local citizens are the best stewards of their conservation areas. The Grand River Conservation Area (GRCA) is so important to our communities and our water needs must be managed locally. Read more

I do not believe amalgamation is the right choice for the conservation authorities. We frequently use the Hamilton Conservation Authorities parks, beaches, and campsites. They are well-managed at this local level.

As a resident of Windsor-Essex, it is very important for the Essex Region Conservation Authority to not be amalgamated into other ones that are hundreds of kilometres away and have completely different ecosystems. Read more

I do not support Doug Ford's proposed changes to the conservation authority (CA) system. By taking away our local NPCA authority and placing it under the direction of the provincial government this ensures that local concerns will not be addressed adequately. Read more

Our natural area is very important to us in Rural Ontario. Our conservation area serves us well and manages our sites that bring tourists in, while maintaining our natural environment. This move takes the voice of local people away. Read more

I grew up on the headwaters of the Grand River. The GRCA was an important partner in landscape stewardship for my father's dairy farm, which was then managed by my brother, and now by my nephew. The GRCA has worked with those three generations, and continues to do so. Read more
