I strongly oppose this bill as a 10 year resident of Toronto. Fundamentally increasing provincial powers and reducing the ability for municipalities to oppose I believe is a reductive way to deliver needs to the communities that comprise this province.

Studies from all over the world have proven that bike lanes reduce congestion. The ministry has to stop pretending that bicycles are only used for leisure. They are used to commute to work, run errands, deliver food. Lire davantage

Bill 60: - strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. - will worsen traffic congestion, not reduce it. The government’s own experts have consistently said that bike lanes are not a cause of gridlock. Lire davantage

This bill goes against strong evidence that making downtown urban streets more accessible to car traffic does not lead to less congestion. Lire davantage

It will make streets less safe, since protected bike lanes prevent serious injuries and deaths. It removes cities’ ability to make locally informed decisions. It also undermines climate and public health goals by reinforcing car-dependent street design. Lire davantage

I whole heartily disagree with this bill. The province should not be choke holding the cities who know what is the best for their citizens. The province should focus on education, healthcare, improving provincial trade, etc,. Not trying to pick fights with Toronto. Lire davantage

Please stop with this idiocy. Bike lanes, together with public transport, are our only way out of grid lock. Learn to say no to cars. Lire davantage

My husband and I ride on Toronto city bike lanes every day. It is our primary mode of transportation. In a busy city with a lot of traffic, it is the bike lanes that make our commute possible. Recently, our children have started riding their bikes to school. Lire davantage

Cars are NOT the future. Please STOP interfering in City matters by pushing for more space for cars in Toronto and focus on what matters, such as improving the public transport system. And accessibility of public transport: Lire davantage

In a time of worsening climate change, it feels ridiculous to be reducing our ability to install safe commuting pathways for alternatives to car travel. Lire davantage

This proposal takes away the power of local municipalities to make decisions about what is best for their city, and, it also falsely assumes that bike lanes cause gridlock. Lire davantage

I believe every pedestrian death is unnecessary. I don't want me, my children, or my neighbours to be next. Would you feel safe sending your kids to walk to school? How many kids deaths are too many? Here's why im against it: Lire davantage

I'm a strong believer in bike lanes. Bike lanes have been shown to increase safety and reduce gridlock. Stop Bill 60's ban on new bike lanes.

This is really unnecessary. Leave these decisions to municipalities themselves as they are very local-specific decisions. Please focus on reducing highway congestion instead.

This is an absurd overreach by the Provincial Government into decisions that must lie with local governments. Local governments are best positioned to make these decisions. Lire davantage

I do not believe bike lanes are the cause of traffic. The real problem is that people do not have many options besides driving. When safe bike lanes are available, people use them. I am one of those people. When bike lanes were added in my neighbourhood, I felt safe enough to try biking instead. Lire davantage
