It is of utmost importance to KEEP CONSERVATION LOCAL, using people who understand the challenges of local waterways in ways that is impossible for centralized decision makers to understand. Lire davantage

I am strongly opposed to the consolidation of Conservation Authorities. Having worked at two, I realize the uniqueness of each watershed that requires a conservation authority at the watershed level, not a regional authority. Lire davantage

I believe that the proposed regions are too large. There is a point when regional organizations get so big they become inefficient. Lire davantage

I am writing to oppose the Ontario government's plan to consolidate Ontario Conservation Authorities. Each authority was created to manage its own watershed; this has been effective since 1946. Lire davantage

Very against. Why do this before the holidays when folks are checked out and not paying attention? 36 to 7 is a diminishing consolidation that will definitely only cause confusion. This motion should not move forward.

I am opposed to this and believe it will weaken environmental protections and impair local communities and municipalities ability to control how and why they develop. Lire davantage

I strongly oppose the Ford governments proposal to reduce the number of conservation authorities from 36 to 7 and establish a new provincial office for oversight. Lire davantage

I’m concerned that combining multiple CAs into a single Lake Erie–wide authority would weaken the local voice and the on-the-ground knowledge that’s essential to managing a watershed like the Thames. Lire davantage

The proposal to reduce the number of conservation agencies by amalgamating them into larger entities does not take into account local interests. This has happened over and over again with LHINS and health units. When they are amalgamated local interests are minimized or ignored. Lire davantage

I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community.

I do not support the proposal to consolidate Ontario’s 36 Conservation Authorities into seven regional agencies. There is absolutely no evidence that this is necessary, nor that it would be beneficial to the province and the environment. Lire davantage

More government overreach and no consultation with the various conservation authorities who have the most knowledge. Shame on you but this is a sham and the government will go ahead and push it through regardless of the harm to the areas that aren't Toronto as usual.

I do not see in any benifit of merging the existing conservation authorities into seven larger bodies. It is my opinion that the respective Conservation Authorities are the ones that best understand the drainage areas that they have control over. Lire davantage
