as for consolidating the RCA's, just shut them all down, sell off the buildings, vehicles and everything else and save us the added tax needed to support their eco-lunacy. They add nothing to quality of life for anyone but themselves. Send them packing. Just one more expense we don't need. Lire davantage

Please reconsider the impact this will have on our precious environment while you ponder the economic benefits. Your repeated Toronto Greenbelt example is disgusting.

Amalgamating Regional Conservation Authorities that are near one another, which share the same kind of landscape, and human interests, makes sense. Lire davantage

The plan to merge the existing Conservation Authorities into 7 large areas is a bad and short-sighted plan. The proposal will remove the oversights for clean water and will severely hamper the stated mandate to protect people and properties. Lire davantage

All this will do is cut jobs which in turns creates more homelessness. Another hit to our environment while the cities and the populations keeps growing out of control. No to the new proposed boundaries.

I am in support of environmental and fiscal responsibility. I am unsure why streamlining these areas, along with any policies and procedures, cannot happen in the current structure. Lire davantage

Please keep the conservation authorities local be sure their local knowledge of water sheds and local flood risk is very important. As farmers we rely on our current CA and its staff, please don’t join them into fewer larger CAs.

I am submitting this comment as I am strongly against the proposed changes to amalgamate Ontario’s conservation Authorities. Ontario’s Conservation Authorities are critical entities conserving, protecting, managing, and restoring our ecosystems and the functions and services they provide. Lire davantage

I am happy with SNC. I volunteer as a forest steward and although I’m not paid, I feel I help keep their forests safe and healthy. I fear moving to one provincial authority would result in the loss of this program. Lire davantage

The mandate of the Conservation Authorities has changed completely since their inception post-hurricane Hazel. All they do is regulate private property for the sole purpose of opposing and preventing development. The proposed changes are long overdue. Lire davantage

I don't think this is a good idea. Consolidating many conservation authorities risks losing sight of the local complexities related to each watershed. OPPOSED Lire davantage

Since when has Ontario successfully amalgamated something? Do you want to turn conservation land into another Toronto? Ontario is the 2nd largest province in Canada, and 4th largest of all the provinces and territories. Lire davantage

If I could include the meme of David from Schitt's Creek saying that "That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard", it would describe my reaction every day I wake up and read the local Ontario news since Doug Ford and the Conservative Party have come to power. Lire davantage

This proposal to amalgamate conservation authorities is deeply concerning and should not go through. Each conservation authority has region specific knowledge and the staff are experts on the land. Their role is to PROTECT our water…there is nothing more important than that. Lire davantage
