To the Environmental Registry of Ontario, I am writing to express my strong opposition to the provisions within Bill 60, the Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, that would prohibit municipalities from reducing motor vehicle lanes to build new bike lanes. Lire davantage

I no not have a car so use my bike regularly to go around the city. For example, Sundays I use the Bloor bike lane to volunteer at an adaptive dance program for children. Biking is much faster on Sunday than public transit. I feel safe on Bloor thanks to the bike lanes. Lire davantage

This bill is a joke to making decisions based on actual data and evidence. Every person that votes in favour in it should be ashamed and embarrassed.

STOP Bill 60 from becoming law. The province is rushing Bill 60, by bypassing committees and shutting down public debate. This approach is a deliberate strategy of flooding the zone to distract and confuse in the hopes that real debate and opposition is drowned out. Lire davantage

As a resident of Peterborough, Ontario, I feel that this legislation makes it harder, if not impossible, for regions to make policy decisions. Lire davantage

I feel Ontario needs a more forward thinking and multi pronged approach to reducing gridlock in the city. Relying solely on cars for transportation and designing cities around drivers needs will not reduce gridlock. Opposite, it encourages more traffic. Lire davantage

We have to allow for more environmentally friendly means of transportation. Today the expectation of driving down town is completely unrealistic. Look at major cities in Europe which have car free centres. If they can do it so can we. Lire davantage

This bill abuses renters while we are in the midst of a major housing and affordability crisis. This is disgusting and reason alone for it be stopped. Young people are struggling more than ever before and the Ford government intends to worsen this situation. Lire davantage

It’s difficult to understand the irresponsible & reckless decisions being made by Doug Ford in matters as important as housing & road safety in particular. Don’t get me started either about what he’s done to our Education & Health sectors, especially the long term care housing crisis. Lire davantage

I strongly disagree with the proposal to prohibit the installation of bike lanes where lane reductions are required. Bike lanes increase the number of cyclists (reducing the number of cars) and improve cyclist safety. Lire davantage

Commenting again because this bill is being jammed through without proper debate or consultation - it is such a bullying overreach of provincial powers and waste of time and resources that it's embarassing.

This is a terrible policy. It will make people less safe and even you know that it won't actually help with congestion. Lire davantage

This is absurd. This is another act to reduce one thing Toronto is doing in the right direction: build bike lanes. Bike lanes make our city safer, less congested, greener and more pleasant to live in. Lire davantage
